Opaque Decorators take Health and Safety very seriously. We train all of our staff to the highest standards and ensure those standards are maintained. Each year we produce training plans and offer all our staff the chance to further their knowledge within the industry.
We train staff on apprentice schemes to achieve NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4 in Painting and Decorating, including Advanced Levels and Management Skills modules.
Our projects always have at least one qualified First-Aider present. We make sure that staff attain First Aid at Work and Appointed Person certificates.
A3 Access is becoming a large factor in the construction industry, with conventional ladders being rarely used. The Work at Height Regulations 2005, require that the assembly, dismantling or alteration of Mobile Access Towers should only be undertaken by a competent person, or if being trained, under the supervision of a competent person We have trained all our staff in the erection of Mobile Scaffolding to the Pasma Level 4 certification.
We train staff to use mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPS) to the industry recognised IPAF certification.
Opaque Decorators staff are proud to be part of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme. CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others.
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) was devised to assist site managers and potential site managers, to develop knowledge, awareness and understanding of their legal, moral and social responsibilities in respect of health, safety and welfare on construction sites.
